Early Life and Education
Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah was born on September 3, 1971 in Otolo, Nnewi in Anambra State, Nigeria. He was the first of seven children born to Mr. & Mrs. Alphonsus Ubah, who were school teachers .
Due to his family’s financial constraints, Ifeanyi dropped out of Premiere Academy in Lugbe, Abuja at a young age to learn trade. He did not complete formal higher education, but attended several local and international business courses and seminars in leadership and business management over the years.
Career
Ifeanyi Ubah started his business career as an auto spare parts dealer and tire exporter in West Africa, becoming a millionaire by age 19. He expanded his tire business to countries like Congo, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Belgium and the UK.
In 2001, he founded Capital Oil and Gas Limited, which grew to become one of the leading oil and gas companies in Nigeria. He also founded The Authority Newspaper and owned the Ifeanyi Ubah Football Club.
In 2014, Ubah unsuccessfully ran for governor of Anambra State. In 2019, he was elected as the Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District.
Family
Ifeanyi Ubah was married to Uchenna Ubah, a Business Administration graduate from Ahmadu Bello University. They had 5 children together.
Death
Ifeanyi Ubah passed away on July 27, 2024 in London, United Kingdom at the age of 52. He was serving as a Senator at the time of his death.
